Leslie Harris did WHAT???

Hi this is Leslie Harris, and on Monday, I did something WAY out of my comfort zone. I drove to see the Rolling Stones. In Detroit. By myself. Without a ticket.

I had been thinking about it and thinking about it. I have friends who have traveled from Chicago to St. Louis to see them. I have a friend who was traveling from Minneapolis to Detroit to see them. I have another friend who saw them in Atlanta. And every time o, I thought, I want to go!

So Monday morning I got online and looked for tickets. Lots of secondary sellers were starting to unload them for less than what they had paid for them, but I didn’t find anything I liked.

I threw some stuff into a backpack, got in the car and started driving. About an hour and a half later I pulled over and checked again. This time I found a single ticket, about halfway back, 22 rows up for what I’m sure is less than what the face value was, so I bought it, and continued on my way.

Once I got to the venue, I was even happier with my purchase. I was even with the end of the catwalk!

The energy started a bit low, but continued to build and build throughout the night. They played for 2 hours and 15 minutes, and Mick, at the age of 78, still has more energy than most 40 year olds that I know! They ended with blistering versions of Gimme Shelter and Satisfaction.

So here’s what I really want you to get about this whole thing. This is what I love to do. Concerts are my happy place. The world needs more happiness. Your happiness makes other people happy, because when you’re happy, you spread that around. So get out of your comfort zone and do those things that make you happy.
