Leslie Harris here, and last night my husband and I attended the production of Twilight Bowl at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago. It’s a coming-of-age story, with five young women in the small town of Reynolds, Wisconsin. I kind of think of Wisconsin as our sibling to the north, and there are several references to the Chicago area.

The entire show takes place in the Twilight Bowl bowling alley, and how the women’s lives are intertwined with their town’s hub.

The story revolves around the young women’s failures, triumphs, and hopes for the future. There are some very difficult moments in the show, but there’s also a lot of humor. I was reminded of my own struggles, as a young woman trying to figure out my path in life.

Twilight Bowl boasts an all-female ensemble, with an all-female creative team. Toilet bowl is playing in The Goodman’s Owen Theater now through March 10th. Find out more here.
