Live Theatre – Yay or Nay?

Hi, it’s Leslie Harris filling in for Nick. I am a big fan of live performance, my favorite being concerts, but I also enjoy live theater immensely.

I’m happy to report that many theaters in the Chicagoland area are reopening. For example, the Paramount Theater in Aurora starts preview of of Kinky Boots tonight! (By the way, I saw it on Broadway, and it’s a really great show)

Most if not all of the theaters that are reopening, will have some restrictions. For example, the Paramount Theater is requiring that all patrons show proof that they are fully vaccinated, and they must wear face masks. Many of the other Chicagoland theaters are requiring either proof of vaccinations or a negative COVID-19 test,  and many of the theaters are also requiring patrons be masked as well.

As far as I’m concerned, I will just be happy to get back to the theater, even with a mask on.

But I know people at both ends of the spectrum – those who think it’s too soon to return to the theater, even with people vaccinated and masked, and of course those who think we need to do away with masks all together.

How about you? Will you be heading back to the theater? Let me know in the Facebook comments.
