Congrats is in order for Lemont native Djordje Mihailovic!

The 22 year old was just called back to camp to train with the USMNT. It’s not Mihailovic’s first stint with the Stars and Stripes. He played in five international games including a couple back in 2019 during the Gold Cup, scoring a goal against Panama (video above).

We should expect to see Djordje, who is currently a midfielder with the Chicago Fire, in uniform for the USMNT’s match with El Salvador on December 9th.

Djordje isn’t the only local guy who played for both club and country. Goalkeeper Brad Guzan is from Homer Glen and went to high school at Providence Catholic in New Lenox before starting his pro career that saw him play in 64 games wearing the red, white and blue. Guzan is currently on the Atlanta United roster.

There are likely more, but those are the two gents I am familiar with!

Go get ’em, DM! Lemont proud!
