Local Principal, Asst. Principal Bring Joy by Dressing as Elf on a Shelf

I’m always ready to give a shout out to local teachers and school staff who go above and beyond or their students…even if it’s in a completely silly way!

This is Principal Sarah Monroe and Asst. Principal Jill Forkel at Walnut Trails Elementary School in Shorewood, part of the Minooka district. They decided to dress up as an Elf on a Shelf (Elves on Shelves?) to bring a little joy to the students during their last full day of class before break on Wednesday.

(TELL US ABOUT OTHER ACTS OF KINDESS OR SOMEONE GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND!)

They appeared all over school to keep a close eye on the kids:

inside display cases…

on a moving staircase…

on a cart being rolled around the hallways…

…even on the library book shelves!

…all while keeping a straight face and not breaking character, just like the real elves!

Great work Mrs. Monroe and Ms. Forkel! It looks like your students and staff are lucky to have you!
