Looking for Fall Flowers? Plant Asters!

Hi this is Leslie Harris, and I recently came across a great article. Asters are a great flower to plant for fall in our area. Asters get their name due to their star shape. The Greek word for star is aster, and has the same root as asterisk, asteroid and astronaut. Asters typically bloom between August and the first frost, making them the perfect flower for this time of year, especially for our important pollinators such as butterflies. Butterflies dine on milkweed in the summer, but asters keep them fed this time of year.

So plant some asters and enjoy their beauty!
