Hi its Leslie Harris, and I admit it, I love Star Wars.

Now I’m not a Star Wars fanatic. I’ve never dressed up as any of the characters or gone to any of the conventions, but I made sure my kids watched the movies once they were old enough, and they have seen them multiple times. My kids even cried when Carrie Fisher died. They called her “Space Mom.”

Anyway, today is May the Fourth, and it’s become kind of a holiday, a play on the phrase May the Force Be with You, and there is much merriment happening today. Here’s just the tip of Hoth, I mean, the iceberg:

The West Branch of the Aurora Library is having Star Wars crafts and costumes all day, and free comic books. Kylo Ren will be there from 2 to 5. Find out more HERE

The Naperville Public Library is having Star Wars Reads Day, with fun activities for kids of all ages from and it’s free. Find out more HERE

As usual, Lombard’s got some cool stuff happening. Starting at 4, you can make Star Wars crafts at the library, and then at 7, you can check out an Insider’s Peak at their Hidden Star Wars event. Find out more HERE

If you’re looking for some evening, adult fun, Return of the Improv is a Star Wars Comet-y Night from 6 to 10 at the Sci-tech Museum in Aurora and costumes are welcome. Details HERE
