Mayor Lightfoot Ousted!

Lori Lightfoot is the first Chicago mayor to lose re-election in 40 years.  Lightfoot conceded Tuesday night, and congratulated top vote-getters Paul Vallas and Brandon Johnson, who will face each other in an April runoff election.  Vallas is the former CEO of Chicago schools, and Johnson is a Cook County commissioner.  Lightfoot was the first Black woman and openly gay person to be elected mayor of Chicago.  She’s the city’s first incumbent mayor to lose re-election since 1983.
