McDonalds, Starbucks, Other Fast Food Staples Adopt Special Money-Saving Deals

Hey, don’t get me wrong. I’m an ardent supporter of all things local. I encourage you to do the same as much as your personal situation allows. But sometimes, money gets tight, and you need something quick and cheap!

It seems that even fast food places are giving us some sticker shock, so it’s interesting that McDonalds has revealed the details of its $5 Meal Deal.

The deal, only available for a limited time, includes an McDouble Cheeseburger or McChicken sandwich, 4-piece McNuggets, small fries, and a drink.

Last month, the Wall Street Journal revealed McDonald’s’ plan for the deal, which the fast-food chain hopes will boost sluggish sales and put customers at ease over rising prices. Burger King, Wendy’s, and Starbucks have also rolled out meal deals over the past few weeks.

Starbucks has a “pairings menu” where you can get a tall drink and a sandwich for a lesser price.

Burger King’s “Your Way” meal deal is nearly identical to McDonald’s’s (did I apostrophe correctly?!) and if available now.

Wendy’s is getting in on the game as well, which you probably already know because of the catchy jingle advertising their $5 “biggie bag” which includes a sandwich, small fries, four-piece chicken nuggets and a small drink. Wendy’s sandwich options include a junior bacon cheeseburger, crispy chicken BLT, or a double stack.

The McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal hits the menu of all U.S. locations on Tuesday.
