My Cherry pit spitting attempt was …well … pitiful!

So last weekend I headed up to one of my favorite places…. Traverse City, Michigan.  If you haven’t been there definitely put it on your list of places to go!.   It is so much fun.  Amazing food vendors (you can get full on all the samples!)  The National Cherry Festival has over 150 events and activities and 85% are free for all! Kids can enjoy pit-spitting, pie-eating contests, turtle races and more without paying a penny.

So although if you saw how pitiful my pit-spitting was you would have thought I should have entered with the kids …  I was actually in the adult contest but I only spit 11 feet … I essentially spit the same way I throw … short and down at the ground.   Hysterically I was in line with a young lad from England and we were both talking about the fact that we hadn’t done this before and weren’t sure why we were doing it now.   Not sure I will put the effort into getting better at pit-spitting … I think I am quite content with just crossing it off my bucket list of weird things I’ve done.
