So last week we had a bit of fun talking about some amazing musicians who tried their hand at acting … Tonight we are going to flip that question and talk about thespians who tried their hand at being rock stars.   This is definitely a tougher question … I think this maybe shows you that you can learn acting to a degree but musical ability is something you either have or your don’t.

So here is a the crazy thing about the answer I chose tonight … I actually don’t love everything this actress does… sometimes I find her annoying in films BUT I really like her as a musician.

The daughter of character actor Geoffrey Lewis, Juliette Lewis began her career in television at age 14 before being cast in her first major film role as Audrey Griswold in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.  She went on to be  nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Cape Fear soon after , as well as the Golden Globe in the same category.   I do have to wonder if her father hadn’t been an actor if Juliette might have pursued music more solidly … anyway she seems to manage the balance of both worlds … check out the song below … it’s really very good.
