Naperville Named Best City in the Country for Single Dads

The trophy case in Naperville is busting at the seams, but you can put another piece of hardware on the shelves!

Amongst all the “best places to live” and “best places to raise a family” accolades, Naperville has been named as the top city in the entire country for single dads!

A website called LawnStarter.com ranked the largest 200 cities in the US based on 36 “key indicators of an ideal environment for solo dads and their kids. Some examples include child care costs, public schools quality, and access to parks.”

Naperville ranked in the top three in:

  • Fewest single dads per 100,000 (3rd)
  • Highest Quality Public Schools (T1st)
  • Affordability (2nd) (Really?!)
  • Home and Outdoor (1st)

Naperville wasnt the only town to crack the top 100. Aurora came in 57th, Joliet came in 74th and Rockford checked in at #75.

“Where’s Chicago?” you ask? You’ll have to scroll down to #113 to find the states largest city! It seems the suburbs are definitely the place to be for solo dads.

The rest of the top five includes Overland Park, KS; Sioux Falls, SD; Olathe, KS; and Cary, NC.

In other timely news, Naperville was the highest-ranking western suburb in LawnStarter.com’s “Most LGBTQ-Friendly Cities” rankings at #70 in the country. Chicago ranked 16th.
