Naperville’s famous drummer donates a drum set to Naper Settlement
Although the band Hootie and the Blowfish all met each other in Columbia, South Carolina while attending college, one rather rhythmic member of the band has some pretty hefty ties to Naperville, IL.
Jim “Soni” Sonefield the drummer of the soulful band Hootie and the Blowfish who moved over 16 million copies of their debut album Cracked Rear View is a graduate of Naperville Central High School.
Recently my hubby who works for Naper Settlement took a trip down to Nashville to join the rhythm section of Hootie and the Blowfish as they set down some tracks in the studio (that’s him in the middle). Rumor has it the album is coming along nicely!
So swing by Naper Settlement when you get a chance and check out Naperville Central’s famous alumni’s drums. (and soon you will be able to watch an interview with Jim as he shares some of his memories of Naperville and his Hootie and the Blowfish journey.)
Summer hours for Naper Settlement are –

Sunday, 1:00-4:00 pm
