Nick Talks to Sportscaster, Former Pro Football Player Mike Golic about the Bears, the Big Game and Battling Diabetes
Everyone even remotely interested in sports was talking about the last weekend in the NFL playoffs. Each game came down to the final play! It is widely considered to be the most exciting weekend of football of all time!
I was lucky enough to have an interview scheduled with sportscaster and former NFL player Mike Golic. We talked about those games, NFL overtime rules, and who he thinks the Bears should bring on as their new head coach.
Mike is also a Type 2 diabetic, a disease that has impacted my life. I’m not diabetic myself, but my dad has been Type 1 from the time he was 14 years old. We lost my dad to complications with diabetes on June 1st, the disease that also took Mike’s father’s life. I was looking forward to talking to him about that and spreading the message of diabetes management.
Also on our call was Hope Warshaw, who’s a registered dietician and certified diabetes care and education specialist who spoke on the importance of a customized game plan for diabetes management. Oh, and Hope pick’s Kansas City, in case you are making any bets on the Big Game!
