Northside to be Well Represented at Home Run Derby!

I’m a Sox fan, and I make no apologies. But even I’m excited to see what these two Cubbies can do.

It’s been confirmed that Javy Baez and Kyle Schwarber will be half of the NL’s side at Monday’s HR Derby. Both guys lead the Cubs in HRs with 17.

Baez is easily the most exciting player in the game, with his swing for the fences mentality at the plate and perpetual green light on the bases.

Schwarber has shown he has historic power.

Should we be concerned that this may effect either of them at the plate during the regular season? Maybe a little, but the reward of watching these guys tee it up in the Derby outweighs the potential negative effects. Schwarber is too good at the plate for this to hinder him, and Baez swings for dongers every time up, so how bad can it get?!

The other two NL long-ballers are reported to be Max Muncy and Bryce Harper.

I don’t know who is going to be on the AL side, but I’ll take the NL in this one.
