Now is the Time to Open Your Heart

Leslie Harris here, and the world is reeling with coronavirus adjustments. I am very concerned about our furry friends.

As you may know, I’m very involved in animal welfare, and shelters are beginning to close their doors. The ones that remain open are experiencing a drop in visitors. All of this means that fewer animals will get adopted, and more animals will get euthanized because the rescue organizations won’t have room to take in those animals that are at high kill shelters. In addition to this, this is a stressful time of year as it is kitten and puppy season, meaning that there will be even more homeless animals!

So what can you do?

If you have had any thoughts of adopting an animal, now would be the time to do it. Let’s help clear the shelters, so they can keep taking in more animals from high-kill shelters.

If you’re not ready to adopt, perhaps you can Foster. Even one cat or dog would make a huge difference. Contact your local shelter for more details
