Olympic Skateboarder Says The Medals Are ‘Not As High Quality As You Would Think’

We’ve all seen the shiny Olympic medals being handed out in Paris.  But at least one Olympian says they’re not all they’re cracked up to be.

Nyjah Huston, a skateboarder who earned bronze in the men’s street competition, says his medal is already showing some wear and tear just a few days later.

He posted pics of the tarnished-looking hardware: “They look great when they’re brand new, but after letting it sit on my skin with some sweat for lil’ bit and letting my friends wear it over the weekend, they’re apparently not as high quality as you would think”.

This year’s medals famously include a piece of the Eiffel tower, which Huston says remains intact.
