Plainfield has been named one of the top 10 safest cities in Illinois, according to Safety.com!
The website states that it first evaluates public safety factors, such as violent, property and hate crimes, determining the safest areas to live. Then they evaluate financial and socioeconomic factors like household income, average rent and health insurance. Additionally, the website says it evaluates each state for natural disaster safety and public health safety.
According to the report, Plainfield has seen no mass shootings, and it has the highest household income average among the other towns on the list.
Plainfield took the #9 spot on the list with the website saying, “The town of Plainfield sits beside the DuPage River and Lake Renwick. The Lake Renwick Preserve is a popular spot for bird-watchers, fishing and hiking. Other popular sites include the Plainfield Halfway House, Mistwood Golf Club and Van Horn Woods. Plainfield boasts the highest household income average on this list but also has very expensive rental prices.”
Other local towns featured include: Willow Springs (#5), Bartlett (#3) and Orland Park (#1).
