R. Kelly Sentenced to 30 year in Jail. There will be an appeal.

R. Kelly has been sentenced to 30 years behind bars.  The R&B singer learned his fate in a New York City courtroom after being found guilty of sex trafficking.  Prosecutors said Kelly used his fame and money to prey upon children and young women for his own sexual gratification.  He still faces prostitution charges in Minnesota and federal child porn charges in Illinois.

R. Kelly’s attorney has high hopes for his appeal after he was sentenced to 30 years in prison.  Jennifer Bonjean said that despite the serious sentence, she’s confident the Second Circuit Court of Appeals will agree Kelly was overcharged.
