James Hetfield’s most metal hobby
Thinking of making a trip to Los Angeles in the next few months? You may want to plan on stopping by the Petersen Automotive Museum. This Saturday February 1st, “Reclaimed Rust: The James Hetfield Collection” is scheduled to open and to stay open through October!
The Metallica frontman will show off his collection of custom, built-from-scratch, classic cars such as “Black Pearl” (a 1948 Jaguar), and “VooDoo Priest” (a 1937 Lincoln Zephyr). And starting in May, you’ll also be able to buy a book showing all of his creations.
In addition, Hetfield will also display pieces of memorabilia and some of his equipment, like an ESP Hollow Body guitar and a Mesa amplifier painted to match his Buick Skylark “Skyscraper”.
I’ve said it before — it must be excellent to have the kind of money that gives you time to really enjoy your passions. And now Hetfield is giving us all a glimpse.
