Reflections on a Boil Order: Werk Force is a Brewery for the People

What a wacky time to live in Plainfield. Thankfully, the village has some awesome businesses, like Werk Force Brewing Company who takes care of their people.

For those who do not live in Plainfield, there has been a boil order in place since Friday, which caused a bit of a run on bottled water in the area. But one business stepped up…a business who knows a thing or two about uber-clean water!

That very night, the beer makers at Werk Force filled their tanks with plain old water, boiled it, chilled it, and made it available to anyone who wanted it.

And if you are going to get some water, a brewery is where you want to go! They are always hyper-sensative with sanitation (as a single microbe could ruin an entire batch of beer) and quality (you can’t have good beer without good water!).

Even though I didn’t NEED it, I decided to pick up a water cooler from the hardware store and get it filled it up. Let me tell you, that is some damn fine water!! It’s actually been really nice to have such high quality water at my disposal 24/7! I don’t think I’ve ever drank this much water in such a short period of time!

I’m sure they have more important things to fill those tanks with (like their award-winning beer), but I sure wouldn’t mind having more of that water at my disposal!

Thankfully, the boil order came to a close Monday night, the kids will be back in school, and all is right with the world (OK…maybe not ALL…).
