It’s been a tumultuous two years for the Exchange Club of Naperville.
They were asked to leave Knoch Park because of the addition of playing fields a few years ago. They were going to move the festival to Romeoville Village Hall, but that didn’t work out for both parties involved, mainly thanks to the pandemic.
Now, it looks like they have finally found a home.
So mark your calendars for June 17-20th! Ribfest is back, and it will be at the DuPage County Fair Grounds! Not the same Fourth of July weekend like we have come to expect, but it will be Father’s Day weekend, the same time of year the original Ribfest took place back in the late 80s.
Here’s the official announcement on the festival website:
The Exchange Club of Naperville is excited to announce the 2022 Ribfest will be held June 17, 2022 through June 20, 2022 at the DuPage Event Center and Fairgrounds in Wheaton, IL.
The venue will allow patrons plenty of space to enjoy the carnival by Fantasy Amusements Co., award winning ribs, Wintrust Community Banks family fun area and exhibits with no entry fee.
The dedicated entertainment site will offer a lineup of premium artists each day and will require a ticket purchase.
There is ample parking at the county complex, with continuous shuttle service to the gates.
Sponsors and VIP perks include close parking in the parking deck, private entrance, upgraded bathrooms and seating as well as the best view of the stage.
Ribfest is the major fundraiser hosted by the Exchange Club of Naperville to help fight child abuse and domestic violence, while strengthening families in our local communities. As a result of these fundraising efforts, in Ribfest’s 32 years, over $18 million has been contributed back to our local communities in support of these causes.
The Club extends its appreciation to the 2022 Ribfest Grand Sponsors: ABC7 Chicago, Budweiser, Coca- Cola, Citgo, Fantasy Amusements Co. and Jewel Osco.
