Rockers on Rock: Nikki Sixx

Hi Rich Dale here.  Who better to to give us their opinion on rock ‘n roll than rockers themselves?  And Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx has never been shy about offering up his opinion on a bunch of topics.

In a recent interview with Classic Rock, he was asked about the state of rock ‘n roll right now. Is it in good shape?

“My criticism is that it’s extremely overproduced in a lot of cases. It’s ProTooled to death, it’s chopped to death, and I miss some of the slop.”  He continued, “I miss when a guitar player doesn’t exactly come down perfect. I kinda miss some of the nuts and bolts of just being in a raw rock band.”

So he finds it too … perfect.  I guess I can see where he’s coming from.  Especially if you look at its roots, maybe rock ‘n roll is not supposed to be perfect.

Check back around this time tomorrow to see what Alice Cooper thinks about the present state of rock.
