Samsung Is Making TV’s That Can Turn Vertical
If you are part of a growing number of people who watch on-line content on your smart TV, you may be annoyed with the number of people who shoot their videos vertically (a fight I have been waging for years…turn your phone sideways!!!)…especially if you happen to be younger than 35 years old.
Now, it might not matter anymore as Samsung has developed a television that can rotate 90 degrees to those vertical videos are now full screen.
The world’s first vertical television designed for social media-addicted millennials will be released next month by Samsung | @JamesLiamCook https://t.co/tWrvZF15nM

Our house does watch a lot of on-line content through our television. There is a lot of kid-friendly programming on services like YouTube, Netflix, Hulu and others, but I honestly never really had the problem of watching things shot in portrait mode.
I, however, am not the target demo here. My three year old son is. Well, he will be in about 15 years or so. Samsung is betting that millennials who watch a lot of vertical-video content on Instagram, Snapchat and other social media would be interested in this new tech. They may be right, but we Americans won’t see this new set for quite a while.
Samsung is rolling it out in their home country of South Korea first, with a price tag of around $1,600.
I may not be in on the vertical video revolution…but hey, it sure would nice to watch while I’m laying on the couch!
