Severe Weather, Tornadoes Possible This Afternoon

Batten down the hatches, friends! We have the makings of some severe weather this afternoon!
As for timing, look for things to pop around and after 2:00.
From the National Weather Service:
Severe thunderstorms are possible across northern Illinois and northwest Indiana late this afternoon into this evening, with a threat for damaging winds, large hail, and a tornado or two. The threat will switch to a period of locally heavy rainfall and flooding in the late evening and overnight.

“Periodic thunderstorms are expected through at least Thursday, with strong to severe storms possible late Tuesday or Tuesday night. Warm and very humid conditions will persist through Thursday. Heat indices of over 100 are expected in most areas during the afternoon hours, with dangerous heat index values nearing or possibly surpassing 105 Tuesday afternoon.
