So You Think You’re Allergic To Cat Fur?

Hi this is Leslie Harris, and I may have been called a crazy cat lady, once or twice. Oh, I’m just kidding. I have embraced it and started telling people myself that I am in fact, a crazy cat lady.

You know what’s really crazy? I’m actually allergic to cats! But I put up with a little bit of congestion because I love them so much that I can’t imagine my life without a cat. Or several.

Here’s the thing, most of us are not actually allergic to cats fur itself. <Most people who are allergic, are actually allergic to a protein in cat saliva, and since cats are constantly cleaning themselves, the saliva gets on their fur, and then it gets on us and we start sneezing.

Anyway, my buddy Nick Jakusz  told me yesterday that there is a new cat food coming out that is supposed to make us less allergic to our furry feline friends.  Nick said there’s something in it neutralize the allergen in cats saliva! This is exciting news!

I am not one to rush out and buy a product as soon as it hits the market, but I will be curious if further developments are made along these lines.
