Some Local AMC Movie Theaters To Open Up Thursday, August 20th

AMC Entertainment have announced they are opening up about 100 of their 600-ish theaters across the country on Thursday the 20th, and they will be doing it throwback style!
Since they were founded in 1920, they will be offering tickets on opening day for 1920 prices…or fifteen cents!
We are excited to share we will open more than 100 U.S. locations on Thursday, 8/20. Another 300 will open during the following 2 weeks and the remainder will open only after authorized to do so by state and local officials. So…the big question: Are masks required while watching the movie?
The answer: Yes, of course.
Beyond that, they will not be allowing neck gaiters or bandanas, either, so you’ll have to bring an actual mask or buy one for $1.
Besides the 15 cent ticket incentive, AMC is also offering discounted concessions, double points for loyalty club members, a month pass for just $5, and more.
During its opening-day promotion, AMC will show catalog films, including “Ghostbusters,” “Black Panther,” “Back to the Future” and “Grease.” Its not exactly clear yet which movies will be at which locations.
Here are the area AMC theaters opening on Thursday the 20th:
- AMC DINE-IN Yorktown 18 (Lombard)
- AMC Naperville 16
- AMC Oakbrook Center 12
- AMC Streets of Woodfield 20 (Schaumburg)
Other theaters around the area will be opening at later dates. Here’s their website to check up on it!
