Some of the Best of Norm Macdonald
I don’t think I fully appreciated Norm Macdonald in his time. Never was a big fan, but like with any celebrity death, it gives us a reason to go back and take in their work.
I did that a bit yesterday and this morning, so I just wanted to share some of the best stuff I’ve come across.
If you have a few minutes to kill today, I hope this makes you laugh!
What’s ironic is that he did a bit on cancer, specifically when people describe it as “losing your battle with cancer.” He says he is not a fan of that phrase because it paints the deceased as a loser, and that’s not right!
“I’m pretty sure, I’m not a doctor, but…I mean if you die, the cancer also dies at exactly the same time,” Macdonald said. “So to me, that’s not a loss. That’s a draw.”
I’m sure he didn’t know it at the time, but how prophetically funny this line is!
Check out some more.
The comedy world, obviously, showing him all the love since the news broke yesterday.
Every one of us loved Norm. Some of the hardest laughs of my life with this man. Most fearless funny original guy we knew. An incredible dad. A great friend. A legend. Love u pal. pic.twitter.com/2Pftw28uPc

I am absolutely devastated about Norm Macdonald. Norm had the most unique comedic voice I have ever encountered and he was so relentlessly and uncompromisingly funny. I will never laugh that hard again. I'm so sad for all of us today.

In every important way, in the world of stand-up, Norm was the best. An opinion shared by me and all peers. Always up to something, never certain, until his matter-of-fact delivery leveled you.

No one could make you break like Norm Macdonald. Hilarious and unique. Fuck cancer.
