St. Patrick’s Day Fun This Weekend

Hi, this is Leslie Harris. This past Saturday, I went to the Elmhurst St Patrick’s Day parade. It’s always a lot of fun, and since the weather was great, there were a LOT of people there!

Elmhurst always has their St Patrick’s Day parade the week before Chicago, so as not to compete. So there is fun stuff happening in Chicago this weekend, but also in Naperville!

The West Suburban Irish St. Patrick’s Day parade kicks off at Mill St. and Ogden, and heads south on Mill, ending at Water St. It promises to be lots of fun for the whole family.

Now I have never actually seen the dying of the Chicago River, so if you’re aiming to see it, that is also happening Saturday morning at 10 a.m. but you’ll want to get there early to get a good spot. I have heard 8:30, but don’t quote me on that.

The Chicago St Patrick’s Day parade steps off at 12:30 at Balbo and Columbus, heading north on Columbus to Monroe. The viewing stand will be in front of Buckingham fountain.

Get out and have some fun this weekend.

Slainte!
