Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

The National Association of Letter Carriers and the National Rural Letter Carriers Association will partner with Loaves & Fishes Community Services during the 30th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Each year, residents are encouraged to place healthy, unexpired, non-perishable items in bags by their mailboxes on Saturday, May 14, for collection by postal carriers and Loaves & Fishes volunteers.

In 2019 during the last Naperville Stamp Out Hunger, more than 86,000 pounds of food was collected from the food drive in support of families that visit Loaves & Fishes for grocery assistance.

With the nation experiencing dramatic increases in the prices of food, gas, and other basic necessities, food pantries have seen a tremendous increase in need. Loaves & Fishes has seen record numbers of people needing assistance. “Last week, Loaves & Fishes served over 5,200 people. This is 60% higher than we served in the beginning of 2022,” said Mike Havala, President and CEO of Loaves & Fishes. “We appreciate the National Association of Letter Carriers, the United States Postal Service, and the support of our entire community, and we are grateful for your donation of healthy, non-perishable food.”

“The Stamp out Hunger initiative continues to support our commitment to service. It is an honor to participate in this collaborative effort,” said Karen Change, Naperville Postmaster.
