How powerful is Taylor Swift? Simply singing one line from a 20-year-old song, she can put it back into the zeitgeist and make it #1 again.
Taylor and some guy named Travis were at the US Open recently and video has emerged of them singing the iconic lines of The Darkness’s I Believe in a Thing Called Love.
Now, that song was very popular when it came out, a top 10 song on the Modern Rock Tracks charts in ’03. But now, simply by the casual vocalizations of one Taylor Swift, it’s now the #1 song in the iTunes rock charts!
Turns out, Taylor’s a pretty big fan of The Darkness and frontman Justin Hawkins. Hawkins took his daughter to the Swift show in Switzerland and apparently got a very nice VIP experience at the direction of Taylor.
@mrjustinhawkins It was a lovely surprise waking up to a video of @Taylor Swift and @Travis Kelce ♬ original sound – Justin Hawkins
