TBT: When Jan Battled APD Officer Weaver to a Dance Off at our Last River Prom

River Prom 2022 is coming up on May 14th, and I couldn’t be more excited!

You kind of never really know what’s gonna happen. Case in point, our last River Prom back in 2019 got intense when Officer Chris Weaver of the Aurora Police Department battled our morning show traffic reporter/co-host thing Jan Shimek to a dance battle! Weaver won, by the way. I mean…did you see those hips?!

It’s presented by our partners at Advantage Chevrolet of Bolingbrook! We’ll have live music, food from Katering by Kristie, a couple hours of open bar thanks to Nutrl Premium Vodka Soda Cocktails, deserts from DeEtta’s Bakery and a packed dance floor, appropriately sponsored by Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa! I know I’ll have some aches and pains when it’s all over!

This year will be more of the same type of shenanigans! Grab your squad and join us for River Prom: Generations – Dancing through the Decades! We’ll have live music from the Paul Windsor Orchestra playing tunes from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s and DJ Kevin to fill in the breaks! We encourage you to dress up in the style of your favorite decade. My wife and I and our friend will be the ones dressed up in 90s gear! Or hey, if this happens to be your FIRST PROM EVER, feel free to get out the formal wear! However you want to do it, just do it!
