I think most of us are familiar with the Hollywood Walk of Fame, yes? The Hollywood Walk of Fame comprises more than 2,600 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street in Hollywood, California. The stars are permanent public monuments to achievement in the entertainment industry bearing the names of a mix of musicians, actors, directors, producers, musical and theatrical groups, fictional characters, and others. I’ve not been to LA for quite a while, but I do remember walking down Hollywood Blvd. and looking at some of the names on the stars, but where I’ve never been and didn’t know it existed until recently is The RockWalk. This is a place in the forecourt of the GuitarCenter on Sunset Blvd. dedicated in 1985 and it has hundreds of hand prints of some of the greatest musicians in the history of music. I’m headed back to LA sometime this year after things calm down to visit my son Mitchell and I guarantee I’m checking out the RockWalk.
