It’s hard to believe that this Friday will be the 19th anniversary of 911. I look back and remember that day like so many others do. Where I was and what went through my mind as I watched the attack unfold on live TV. September 11th, 2001 my three youngest children were ages 10, 7 and 5. Now Mitchell turns 30 in October, we lost Spencer five and half years ago (he would have been 27) and McKenna is 24 and the mother of two boys. Those in themselves are markers in time, but still the event seems less real and distant and I’m sure that is due to the passage of time. Things like this should never fade from our memories and so again this year a Memorial event is planned. The Exchange Club of Naperville will hold an event to commemorate Sept. 11. The memorial event will be held Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. at Cmdr. Dan Shanower Memorial, which is located behind the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.
