Tim Thomas’s Deep Cuts- Phil Collins! Tell Me Your Favorite!
Good Saturday morning! Tim Thomas here, and I have another Deep Cuts artist to feature today. He has had success as part of one of the biggest bands of all time, and huge solo success. He played in both stadiums for Live Aid ’85. He has sold an estimated 150 million albums worldwide. He has won 8 Grammy’s, 2 Golden Globes, 1 Academy Award and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003. That man…is Phil Collins!
Now Phil first came to prominence as a member of Genesis, and they are reuniting for a tour later on this year…well Phil, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks. But he has been just as successful as a solo artist. A great singer and drummer, he deserves the Deep Cuts treatment today.
So I poured over his musical library and this was more difficult than I thought. I wanted to focus on his solo work and not his work with Genesis. Still hard! But here are my 4 selections and the albums where you can find them:
A Groovy Kind Of Love- Buster movie soundtrack 1998
Dance Into The Light- Dance Into The Light 1996
You’ll Be In My Heart- Tarzan movie soundtrack 1999
Can’t Stop Loving You- Testify 2002
Give them a listen below and feel free to share your favorites on our Facebook page. Thanks for listening!
