Hi, it’s John Calhoun on this 25th of January. That happens to be both a good and bad day in the life of Billy Joel.

He was born in Hicksville, Long Island, NY and formed his first band when he was 15. That’s probably around the time he started driving.

Fast forward to January 25, 2003 – the day he crashed his Mercedes Benz on a Long Island highway. Although the car was totaled, he escaped with a few facial cuts.

Exactly five years later (1/25/2008), Billy had a much better day. That’s when he donated $500,000 to an organization that gives aid to disabled veterans (Homes For Our Troops).

The album An Innocent Man contains one of my favorites.

Believe it or not, Keeping The Faith would debut on January 26, 1985.
