Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard were all born in Texas the same year (1949). 20 years later they formed their boogie rock trio ZZ Top in Houston.

ZZ Top Day was declared in the state of Texas on May 5th, 1997 by then-Governor George W. Bush.
