Trump says FBI raided Mar-a-Lago

Former President Trump is confirming that the FBI executed a search warrant today on his Mar-a-Lago resort.  Frank Figliuzzi, former FBI assistant director for counterintelligence, says if the conditions of the raid are proven and Trump is convicted, he would be unable to hold public office.

Multiple reports indicate the raid was in connection to materials Trump allegedly brought to his Florida home from the White House.  Some of those are said to have included items marked classified by the National Archives.  Trump issued a statement saying his home was “under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents.”  The former president, who was in New York at the time, added that they had “broken into” his safe.  He summed it up as “an attack by radical left Democrats” who don’t want him to run for president in 2024.  He also took a shot at his one-time opponent, saying Hillary Clinton had not been held to account for deleting thousands of emails and removing items from the White House.
