Valentine’s Day – Not Just for Humans

Hi this is Leslie Harris, and yes Valentine’s Day is upon us. Love is in the air, but not just for humans.

This is mating season for much of our local wildlife, including coyotes, so it’s a good idea to take heed of these tips from DuPage County Animal services. Remember:

Coyotes maybe more active

Coyote couples stay together and the male is protective of the female and his pups

Seeing coyotes active during the day is not a cause for concern

Supervise your pets when they are outside, especially this time of year

Be sure your children do not approach wildlife (adults should not either!)
