VIDEO: Bono & The Edge Perform Acoustic Set In Kyiv Bomb Shelter
Let’s be honest…the guys of U2 are just built different.
President @ZelenskyyUa invited us to perform in Kyiv as a show of solidarity with the Ukrainian people and so that’s what we’ve come to do. — Bono and The Edge #StandWithUkraine

Bono and The Edge showed their support for Ukraine on Sunday with a surprise concert – held in an even more surprising venue. The duo played an acoustic set inside a Kyiv subway station that has been converted into a bomb shelter. The set included U2 staples like “Desire” and “With or Without You”, as well as a cover of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me”.
They even let some of the soldiers do a bit of karaoke..and man, that soldier has some PIPES!

Bono told the gathered crowd “The people in Ukraine are not just fighting for your own freedom, you are fighting for all of us who love freedom”.
Here’s a few more looks at it.

To be honest, I’ve been trying to figure out how they got all that high-tech camera and lighting equipment into a bomb shelter in the middle of a war zone, but I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.
