A Glendale Heights police officer was placed on leave after video showing a woman’s apparently violent arrest was shared on social media.
Glendale Heights police say were called to a home for a domestic disturbance. WGN reports that the woman fought police and “bit an officer’s arm and head-butted him.”
The video, shared by WGN, shows the woman being arrested and appears to show an officer punching her in the head.
Glendale Heights Village President Linda Jackson says, “While the video is shocking to see, significant portions of the video are missing from the publicly available posts.”Jackson added that “We must preserve the trust of our community by being as transparent as possible.”
Glendale Heights police are asking anyone who witnessed the arrest or may have additional videos to call Deputy Oliver at 630-909-5453.
