We never wanna hear these words again!

Every year there is a Word of the Year, but some people want the opposite.  So Lake Superior State University has published a list of 2020’s Banished Words.  To no-one’s surprise, “Covid-19” tops the list of words people don’t want to follow them into 2021.  In fact, seven of the top ten words and phrases are Covid-related.

Here’s the full list:

1. Covid-19
2. Social distancing
3. We’re all in this together
4. In an abundance of caution
5. In these uncertain times
6. Pivot
7. Unprecedented
8. Karen  (nothing against people actually named Karen)
9. Sus  (I don’t even know what this means)
10. I know, right?  (This was on my banned list about ten years ago)
