West Aurora Blackhawks “Thunder Guard” Brings Home National Championship

Winning any competition is never easy. Winning a national title, well, that’s something to celebrate!!

A hearty congratulations to the West Aurora Blackhawk Air Force Junior ROTC for bringing home EIGHT trophies from the Open Drill Nationals in Dayton, OH last weekend!

The WAHS Thunder Guard performed well in all four areas of competition: the inspection, regulation, color guard and exhibition to defeat 10 other teams and bring home the Unarmed National Title.

In the armed competition, the the Thunder Rifles took THIRD place!

Shout out to the Armed Knights of Lincoln-Way Central in New Lenox who also participated in the armed side of the event.
