What a Great Day to Be A Sports Fan in Chicagoland!
There’s no question about it. Yesterday was awesome.
First, football is back and we were welcomed with a strikingly unlikely Bears come back. Sure, Mitch was laughably bad for three quarters, but he flipped some kind of switch inside and was brilliant in the fourth (not to mention that extremely kind drop by the Lions’ WR at the end), but a win is a win! Regardless of the Xs and Os breakdown, it was a lot of fun to watch!
Chicago rallied from a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit today, scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter to defeat the Lions, 27-23. The last time Chicago overcame a fourth-quarter deficit of 10+ points was on Oct. 11, 2015, with an 18-17 road-win over KC after trailing, 17-6.

Then at nearly the same time, rookie pitcher for the Chicago Cubs Alec Mills throws the second no hitter for a Chicago club this year – the first time EVER that the Sox and Cubs have had a no-no in the same season!

The a few minutes later, the White Sox cap off their sweep of the Detroit Tigers and, with some help, hold to best record in the American League!!

The best part for me though, was with all the live sports on TV, all the fun to text about with my buddies, I…just for a few short hours…forgot we were in the middle of a pandemic. That’s why sports is so important to our society. Because it’s normal.
I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
