What to do with the Kids this Winter Break.

Hi it’s Leslie Sarris, and before you know it, the kids will be off school for a couple of weeks. Once the holidays are over, what to do with all that free time? I love visiting unusual, out of the way places, and Northwest Indiana is full of them! Check out the book, secret Northwest Indiana by Joseph s Pete.

In it you will find information about Meyers Castle, a medieval, 28 room fortress modeled after a Scottish Castle in Dyer Indiana.

Kids of all ages will enjoy the Hoosier valley railroad museum in North Judson Indiana. It’s on a historic railroad line, and you can even ride the rail on the weekends, including crossing a bridge that goes over the Kankakee river.

Check out the Pullman sleeper car that carried troops to World war II and more.

You can also visit the wall of crap at Screaming Monkey comics in Munster Indiana, but if you want to know more about that, you’re going to have to buy the book.
