What Year Is It Again?! A Roller Skating Competition Series Premieres This Month!

Is roller skating back?  Because nobody told me.  But a reality competition series called “Roller Jam” is hitting Max on Thursday, October 10th.

It’s a six-episode series, hosted by former “American Idol” star Jordin Sparks, and produced by “Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines.

Contestants will be judged by figure skating champ Johnny Weir, roller skating legend Terrell Ferguson, and a different celebrity judge each week. 

They are:  Michelle Williams from Destiny’s Child, Maureen McCormick from “The Brady Bunch”, Pepa, Debbie Gibson, actress Marissa Jaret Winokur, and Joanna Gaines.

The winning team will receive $150,000, plus a $10,000 donation to their local rink.

The big question is, can roller skating ever reach the heights it did when Linda Blair starred in the 1979 cinematic blockbuster “Roller Boogie“???  We can only hope.
