As you may or may not know, besides my daily duties at 95.9 The River, I am also the play-by-play voice for the University of St. Francis football team in Joliet. Sports broadcasting was really my first love and what got me into radio in the first place. While I’ve had to forgo many of my sportscasting duties over the years, I could never stop going out to the gridiron every Saturday. I just love it too much.
This year has been a bit tough for the Saints. They are just 3-6, and until this past weekend, were 0-3 at home. But they finally got their first home win of the season on Saturday, beating Missouri Baptist 49-34. The most notable aspect to the game was the performance of St. Francis RB Dwayne Milton, who ran for 316 yards and 4 TDs! Yes, those are school records. He also broke the USF record for most yards in a season, a record he set last year, and we still have two games to go!
