Woman killed in early morning hit-and-run in Aurora

Aurora police are asking for help as they investigate a hit-and-run crash that killed a 69-year-old woman early Wednesday morning.

Police were called to the scene at 1:56 after a body was reported lying in Galena Boulevard west of Barnes Road on the city’s far west side., according to a news release.

Authorities identified the woman as Annie Kpa of Aurora. Police said she was walking in the roadway when she was struck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The intersection remained closed for several hours after the hit-and-run was reported.
