Yorkville High School Just Opened Up a Time Capsule…from the Year 2000

Well, here’s one way to know you are getting old. High schoolers start opening up time capsules that were sealed when you were in high school.

I need a minute…ugh…

Come on…the year 2000 wasn’t THAT long ago! Maybe these things need to spend a little more time sealed up! Or…I just need to come to grips with losing hair and gaining weight.

As far as the YHS “time capsule” goes, they had some neat trinkets in there like Homecoming football programs, photographs from teams and clubs, a Valentine’s Day card, and back issues of the high school newspaper and copies of the Kendall County Record.

YHS says they are refilling the time capsule with a planned open date in 2030. Can’t wait for those whippersnappers to feel how I’m feeling!
