You’ve Still Got Time to Catch Illumination
Hi it’s Leslie Harris, and I finally got to see Illumination at the Morton Arboretum. I have been a member of the Morton Arboretum for several years, but for various reasons, I never caught this spectacular light show. There’s good reason why it was voted the best light show in the Chicago area, and also voted the best light show in the Midwest.
I actually went with some friends on New Year’s Day night, a wonderful way to start the new year. The display is nothing short of spectacular. I felt like I was walking through a magical land. Not only are the lights breathtaking, but many of the displays are set to various types of music as well.
There are also warming tents along the trail, where you can stop and rest, get some hot chocolate (as well as something to spike your hot chocolate) and snacks.
PRO TIP: I was advised to go a little later to avoid crowds. Also, check the times for prices as they fluctuate from one show to another.
Tickets are still available for Illumination, but hurry, because this once a year spectacular closes this Saturday, January 6th.Find out more and get tickets HERE. Don’t miss it.
